Why independents look for a TECOBI alternative
TECOBI describes itself as AI follow-up that works on top of your CRM: VinSolutions, eLead/Fortellis, ProMax and others. That design is right for a franchise store with a CRM contract it can't leave. For an independent dealer it usually means two bills, two logins and a seam between them where a lead can get lost. The questions we hear most are about cost, about the CRM underneath, and about the phone.
1. All-in-one instead of a layer
CarSales AI OS is the CRM. One login covers leads and pipeline, inventory (synced nightly from your website), desking, AI texting in draft or automatic mode, the Lot Line AI phone agent, appointments, ten follow-up plays, reports and showroom pages for your website. The AI sees the car, the deal, the appointment and the conversation because they're one record. Texting and Lot Line run on a GoHighLevel account we connect and set up for your store. See everything that's included.
2. The cost math, on TECOBI's own numbers
TECOBI publishes its prices. Here is a year on its Small tier (stores selling up to 100 cars a month), using only what is on its pricing page:
A 30-car independent on TECOBI's Small tier is paying for a tier sized for stores up to 100 cars a month. That's not a criticism of TECOBI; it is just not built around a store that size. The full year-one breakdown is in TECOBI pricing in 2026.
3. A plan for the salesperson, not just the store
Not every buyer of AI follow-up is an owner. A salesperson whose store won't pay for software can sign up on their own for $49 a month after a 14-day free trial and get their own My Day, AI-written texts and follow-up reminders. TECOBI sells to dealerships; we sell to both. See the salesperson plan.
4. An AI phone agent that is live today
TECOBI has announced an AI voice assistant publicly as a beta. Lot Line is live in CarSales AI OS now:
- Answers your store's line, after hours and during the Saturday rush.
- Searches your live inventory and texts the caller the car's link, or the best three matches, while they're still on the phone.
- Checks open times and books the appointment with the car attached; saves the lead when the caller isn't ready.
- Outbound AI calls go only to customers with AI-call consent, re-checked at dial time for opt-out, Do Not Call and quiet hours in your time zone and the customer's.
The rules behind that last point are in AI phone agents for car dealers: what works and the TCPA rules.
What you give up
Being honest about it: TECOBI has a longer track record and more reviews, about 15 named integrations to our handful (lead email, webhooks, Zapier and Make, GoHighLevel), a dedicated TCPA toolset, document signing by text, human texting staff and large included SMS allowances. If you are keeping your CRM and need those, TECOBI is a good choice. If you'd rather have one system, try ours on your own inventory first.
The founding-dealer offer
The first 10 dealerships get the setup fee waived and their price locked for 24 months. Every plan is month-to-month after a 14-day free trial with no card. Get your price + start free, or see the full feature-by-feature comparison.
